Playground Season 5: A Game of Bullies And Entertainers
Playground Season 5, streaming on MX Player by Amazon Prime, has emerged as one of the rare reality shows in Indian entertainment to deliver back-to-back headline-making drama. Almost every episode witnesses verbal sparring – whether between contestants, coaches or mentors, including Elvish Yadav and Tejasswi Prakash. The drama doesn’t stop at words either, with at least two contestants getting involved in a physical scuffle in each episode, making confrontations and clashes a recurring feature of the show.
Based on the recent episodes, here’s a peek into what’s actually happening and why the audience have their jaws dropped!
1. Self-Proclaimed Winner Pack
Mannat Kulharia, Chakshdeep Singh, Vikash Yadav and Ridey Behl have seemingly formed a tight-knit pack in the Playground S5 house, joining forces to pick fights with whoever crosses their path. Whether they are friends, allies or rivals doesn’t seem to matter – if there’s a camera around, there’s a show to be put on.
The four bullies have already started claiming themselves as the winners of Playground S5, but what’s increasingly noticeable is that their game plan is beginning to look less strategic, more predictable, and honestly – annoying.
For this group, boundaries seem to be increasingly blurred – personal digs, confrontations and attacks are all seemingly fair game when it comes to staying in the spotlight. No wonder they have openly commented on personal insecurities and mental health – taking it as a joke!
2. The Ones Who Are Entertaining
Simran Behl, Vansh Khandeka aka Bacchi and Simar Sethi have emerged as audience favourites recently.
While Simran has repeatedly found herself at the receiving end of backstabbing by her so-called friends – Mannat, Chakshdeep and Ridey – she continues to shine through the chaos. In recent episodes, she has showcased a different side of herself, emerging not just as a strong gamer but also as an entertainer, winning attention with her witty one-liners, humour and dance performances.
Amid the constant drama and confrontations in the house, the duo of Bacchi-Simar is proving to bring comic relief too – at the table. From playful teasing and light-hearted banter to deliberately pushing each other’s buttons with their cheeky rage-baiting, they know how to keep things entertaining without letting the tension take over. The only ray of hope for the audience in between daily physical fights is their dynamic.
3. The Ones Who Are Lost In The Chaos
Some contenders appear to be getting lost in the crowd, while others have been able to draw attention on a regular basis. Despite having strong personalities, Navdeesh Singh, Rhea Saxena and Shrishti Parashar have lately begun to exude a somewhat boring atmosphere. Their gameplay is starting to simply seem boring these days – and the audience wants them to do better!
Madhuja and Riya Kumari, on the other hand, have always not had a voice of their own, and it’s getting monotonous too. Unless they step up and actually use their own game, they risk becoming even less noticeable and packing their bags next.
