3 Idiot’s scene becomes an inspiration for a high-stakes delivery sequence performed by Muskan Bamne in Sony SAB’s Pushpa Impossible

Sony SAB’s Pushpa Impossible is keeping audiences hooked with its high-stakes storytelling. In the latest track Rashi (Akshhaya Hindalkar) finds herself in a dangerous situation after being kidnapped while pregnant. Thanks to Shanaya’s (Muskan Bamne) quick thinking and presence of mind, Rashi is eventually found and brought to safety, but the situation takes an unexpected turn when her water breaks, leaving Shanaya with no choice but to step up and deliver the baby herself.

The unusual situation also made the sequence particularly challenging to portray as Shanaya is suddenly pushed into a circumstance she has never experienced before. While preparing for the scene, Muskan drew inspiration from Aamir Khan’s performance in the memorable delivery sequence from 3 Idiots, particularly the way he balanced nervousness with the determination to get through the situation.

Talking about the scene Muskan Bamne who plays Shanaya said, “When I first read the sequence the scene from 3 Idiots immediately came to my mind. Aamir Khan sir’s character is completely unprepared for what is happening, but he somehow keeps his calm, thinks on his feet and does whatever is needed in that moment. I really loved the way that mix of nervousness, urgency and determination, without making the situation feel overdramatic was portrayed. I tried to take inspiration from that while playing Shanaya because she is also suddenly thrown into a situation she has never experienced before, but there is no time for her to panic. It was challenging to shoot, but also a really exciting scene because Shanaya’s quick thinking becomes the reason Rashi and her baby are safe.”
