Kamya Punjabi joins Zee TV’s Vasudha as Rudraani Singh Shekhawat, bringing a new twist to the drama

Zee TV’s Vasudha has been one of the most-watched shows on television. In the recent episodes, viewers witnessed a significant turning point as Dev (Abhishek Sharrma) and Vasudha (Priya Thakur) finally tied the knot with Chandrika’s (Parineeta Borthakur) blessings. Although the two had been married earlier, Chandrika’s acceptance of Vasudha as her daughter-in-law had remained a crucial missing piece. With Chandrika finally giving the couple her blessings, their grand wedding marked a new beginning for the family.

However, just as Dev and Vasudha embark on this new chapter of their lives, fresh challenges are set to unfold. Actress Kamya Punjabi is all set to enter the show as Rudraani Singh Shekhawat, a business rival to Chandrika. She is a high-society woman whose ambitions, strong opinions and distinct outlook towards relationships and business are set to bring a new dynamic to the narrative. Her entry will create fresh complications for Chandrika and Vasudha, particularly as the two navigate the challenges that lie ahead.

Sharing her thoughts on joining the show and stepping into the character of Rudraani Singh Shekhawat, actress Kamya Punjabi said, “Vasudha has been doing well, and it is always encouraging to see audiences connect with a show and its evolving storyline. When the character of Rudraani Singh Shekhawat was narrated to me, what immediately caught my attention was the complexity of her personality. She is a US-returned, high-society woman who is deeply conscious of status, believes in maintaining a certain social standing, and approaches both relationships and business from a very different perspective. In many ways, she is the complete opposite of Chandrika, whose approach to people is far more grounded and empathetic. What I find particularly interesting about Rudraani is that she isn’t someone who can be understood at face value. There are several layers to her, and her strong opinions, ambitions and outlook towards life make her a compelling character to explore. Her entry will bring a new dynamic to the story and put Chandrika and Vasudha in situations that will challenge their perspectives and decisions. As an actor, I have always believed that the most rewarding characters are those that allow you to explore shades of human nature that may be very different from your own. Rudraani offers me that opportunity, and I look forward to exploring her complexities and bringing this new dimension to Vasudha.”

With Rudraani Singh Shekhawat’s entry, it will be interesting to see what challenges Chandrika and Vasudha will have to face and how her arrival will change the course of their lives.
