Gokuldham is coming alive like never before, this time through a new 2D animated lens. Neela Mediatech, the gaming and animation arm of Neela Film Productions, gave fans the first look at its upcoming 2D family animated series at the Animation & More Summit 2026 in Mumbai, and the room had plenty to talk about after. Made for everyone in the house, the new series brings a fresh new look and a whole new way of telling the stories of the characters fans already love. To top it off, the attendees witnessed a special sneak peek video that only made fans hungrier for more and their wait a lot more fun.

Taking Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah globally is the next step for Neela Mediatech, and the new 2D family animated series brings that vision to life, across generations and platforms. The franchise already has a solid footing in animation, with its 3D series for pre-teens successfully running on YouTube. Add Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Rhymes to the mix, reaching younger audiences in 12 Indian languages, and it’s clear this universe just keeps growing.

Speaking at the Summit, Asit Kumarr Modi, Creator & Producer, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah & Founder, Neela Mediatech, looked back on the show’s journey, now 18 years old and completed 4,800 episodes, and still going strong as the world’s longest-running comedy series. He spoke about his larger vision for building the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah entertainment universe, with the new 2D family animated series as a key milestone in that journey. Made for the entire family and not just kids, the series carries a distinct anime-inspired style while staying true to the show’s spirit of comedy with a purpose. He also touched on Neela Mediatech’s bigger push, taking Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah global through animation, gaming and multilingual content, with more formats, platforms and collaborations on the way.
