Sony SAB artists celebrate National Parents’ Day by reflecting on their parents’ sacrifices and the lessons that shaped them

Parents are often our first heroes, biggest cheerleaders and lifelong teachers. From making countless sacrifices to encouraging us to chase our dreams, their love and guidance leave a lasting impact on every stage of life. Celebrating Parents’ Day, Sony SAB artists Iqbal Khan, Gulki Joshi, Muskaan Bamne, and Chandan Anand reflect on the unwavering support of their parents, the sacrifices they made, and the life lessons that continue to guide them every day.

Looking back on their journeys, the artists share heartfelt memories of the people who believed in them first and helped them become who they are today.

Iqbal Khan who essays the role of Dr Dev Mehta in Yaadein, shared, “Now that I’m a parent myself, I see my own parents in a completely different light. You truly begin to understand the countless sacrifices they made only when you experience parenthood yourself. Looking back, I realise how quietly they put my needs before their own and supported every dream I wanted to pursue. At the same time, they made sure I stayed grounded and never lost sight of my values. If there’s one thing they’ve taught me, it’s to treat people with kindness, stay humble no matter where life takes you and always be grateful for every blessing that comes your way.”

Muskaan Bamne who essays the role of Shanaya in Pushpa Impossible, shared, “Leaving my hometown at a young age to pursue acting wasn’t easy, but my parents never let their fears stop me from chasing my dreams. Looking back, I realise how much courage it must have taken for them to let me go. Their trust has always been my biggest strength and they’ve taught me to believe in myself even when things don’t go as planned. On National Parents’ Day, I just want to thank them for every sacrifice they made without ever expecting anything in return.”

Chandan Anand, who essays the role of Shakuni in Hastinapur Ke Veer, shared, “One lesson my parents always repeated was that your character is far more important than your achievements. Success may come and go, but the kind of human being you are stays with people forever. That thought has stayed with me throughout my journey. In this industry, there are highs and lows, but my parents always reminded me to remain grounded, respect every individual and never lose sight of my values. Those lessons have become my biggest strength, and I carry them with me every single day.”

Gulki Joshi, who essays the role of Dr Srishty Agarwal in Yaadein, shared, “My parents taught me that kindness is never a weakness. Growing up, I watched them treat everyone with the same warmth and respect, no matter who they were and that’s something I’ve tried to carry with me throughout my life. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or uncertain, I think of the calmness with which they handled every situation. Those little lessons have helped me not just as an actor but as a person. Parents’ Day is a beautiful reminder to celebrate the people whose love shapes us long before we realise it.”
