Monsoon wellness secrets: The cast of Sony SAB’s Yaadein share their favourite home remedies
Sony SAB’s Yaadein continues to entertain audiences with its refreshing mix of warmth, humour and engaging medical stories. While the doctors at JBMMC Hospital are always busy treating patients on screen, off-screen, the cast has their own tried-and-tested home remedies to stay healthy during the monsoon season.
With the rains bringing along seasonal coughs, colds, and viral infections, the cast believes that a few simple habits passed down through generations go a long way. From sipping warm kadha and turmeric milk to staying hydrated and enjoying homemade comfort foods, the actors shared the little rituals they swear by to keep themselves healthy while juggling long shooting schedules through the rainy season.
Gulki Joshi, who plays Dr Srishty Agarwal, shares, “Monsoons always remind me of home because that’s when all the traditional remedies come out. My go-to is definitely haldi doodh before sleeping, especially if I’m feeling tired after a long shoot. I also try to drink warm water throughout the day and avoid cold drinks whenever possible. They’re simple habits, but they’ve always worked for me.”
Iqbal Khan, who plays Dr Dev Mehta, adds, “My monsoon routine is quite simple. I start my day with a small piece of raw haldi and a glass of lukewarm water. It’s a habit I’ve followed for years, and I genuinely feel it helps me stay healthy. During the rainy season, I also try to avoid street food as much as possible, especially since our shooting schedules often keep us on the move. Along with these little habits, I always pray to God to keep me fit and give me the energy to do my best every day. And if I do happen to fall sick, I see it as a gentle reminder to slow down, listen to my body and give it the care and rest it needs before getting back to work stronger than before.”
Devish Ahuja, who plays Dr Raunak, shares, “My family has this funny rule, if it’s raining outside, pakodas are absolutely compulsory, but so is a cup of homemade kadha! That’s our way of striking a balance. I also always keep a small jar of jaggery and roasted saunf handy because my grandmother would insist it helps with digestion, especially during the monsoon. It is one of those family traditions that has stayed with me and I genuinely enjoy following it.”
