Sony SAB artists inspire conscious living and everyday sustainability on the occasion of World Environment Day

World Environment Day serves as an important reminder of the small yet meaningful choices we can make every day to care for the planet around us. Whether it is reducing waste, conserving resources, or simply becoming more mindful of our daily habits, collective efforts can create a lasting impact over time. This year, Sony SAB artists Iqbal Khan, Karuna Pandey, and Vivana Singh reflect on their personal connection with nature and share the conscious lifestyle choices they try to follow in their everyday lives to contribute towards a healthier environment.

Iqbal Khan, who plays Dr. Dev Mehta in Yaadein, shared, “I studied in a boarding school, so discipline around not wasting resources was drilled into us from a very young age. We were taught to never waste water or electricity, switching off lights and fans when not needed was taken very seriously. Even today, those habits have stayed with me so strongly that my family sometimes makes fun of how particular I am about it. But honestly, I think these small habits matter a lot, and if all of us become a little more mindful in our daily lives, it can make a real difference.”

Karuna Pandey, who plays Pushpa in Pushpa Impossible, shared, “Nature has a way of grounding and calming you, especially in the middle of hectic schedules and busy city life. One thing I’ve become very particular about over the years is carrying my own water bottle and cloth bags everywhere instead of relying on single-use plastic. It’s such a small change, but once you consciously start doing it every day, it becomes second nature. I also try to reuse and repurpose things at home as much as possible because I genuinely believe sustainability begins with small everyday choices.”

Vivana Singh, who plays Gandhari in Hastinapur Ke Veer, shared, “I have always felt a deep connection with nature and peaceful surroundings. Over time, I’ve made it a habit to keep plants around me wherever I live or work, as they bring a sense of calm and warmth to the space. Caring for them has also taught me patience and mindfulness in small but meaningful ways. Alongside this, I try to be conscious about reducing plastic usage in my daily routine, because I believe protecting nature begins with being more aware of our everyday habits.”
