Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya actress pays homage to Gandhi Ji’s principles on his 155th birth anniversary
A day dedicated to the ‘Father of the Nation’, Gandhi Jayanti is the celebration of the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi. He was born in 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, and this year marks his 155th birth anniversary. As a mark of respect to the leader, the nation commemorates this day by putting garlands on Gandhi’s statues as a mark of respect. Even prayer meetings are held at Gandhi’s memorial in New Delhi, Raj Ghat. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Zee TV actoress from Kumkum Bhagya, Srishti Jain shared her thoughts on the sacrifices made by ‘Bapu’ for the freedom of our country.
Aishwarya Khare, who essays the role of Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi said, “On this Gandhi Jayanti, I reflect on Mahatma Gandhi’s immense sacrifices for our country. His strong commitment to being truthful, non-violent, and justice brought us the freedom we cherish today. As we know, his journey was not easy, but his selflessness and resilience continue to inspire us all to stand for what is right. This day is a reminder of the power of unity and peace, values that are as important today as they were during our fight for independence. Let’s honor his legacy by carrying forward his message of love and tolerance in our everyday lives.”
Kishori Shahane Vij who essays the role of Babita in Zee TV’s Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye said, “Gandhi Ji’s timeless wisdom continues to inspire me deeply. He lived by the principle that, in the end, truth always prevails, and this is something I hold close to. His belief in kindness and compassion, not just toward people but also animals, is something that everyone should look up to. I believe in his philosophies like non-violence, honesty, and principles about peace. I feel that if this Gandhi Jayanti, we embrace even a fraction of his wisdom, we can make the world a better place.”
Srishti Jain, who essays the role of Monisha in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya said, “Bapu’s thought process resonates deeply with me, and Gandhi Jayanti is a reminder that the power of non-violence and truth can do wonders. I must say that Mahatma Gandhi has inspired me in numerous ways. His life lessons are really worth implementing. One thing that I learned from Bapu and have applied in my life is the art of forgiveness. Mahatma Gandhi once mentioned, ‘The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.’ I strongly believe in forgiving others because it allows them to grow and makes us feel lighter. Everybody should try to let go of their feelings of rage and vengeance, and clear their minds of all negative emotions.”
Titiksha Shrivastava, who essays the role of Geeta in Zee TV’s Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah said, “Every Gandhi Jayanti, we come together to honor the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, a beacon of peace and non-violence. His unwavering belief in truth and compassion serves as a reminder of the power each of us holds to implement positive change in the world. This year, let us reflect on his teachings and strive to embody the values he championed—kindness, understanding, and the courage to stand up for what is right. As we celebrate his life, may we be inspired to promote harmony in our communities, ensuring that his vision of a better world continues to live on through our actions.”
