The stars of Sony Entertainment Television wish for a blissful new beginning this ‘Gudi Padwa’!
नव्या संकल्पांनी करूया नववर्षाचा शुभारंभ, गुढीपाडव्याच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा| Marking the onset of spring, Gudi Padwa – also known as the Marathi New Year brings with it a festive cheer that is unmissable. Dancing, rangoli, worshipping the Gudi and eating scrumptious delectables like Puran Poli complete the celebrations in most households. Talking about their plans for Gudi Padwa this year, the stars of Sony Entertainment Television about how they will celebrate this day.
Aetashaa Sansgiri aka Ahilyabai of Punyashlok Ahilyabai says, “Gudi Padwa is the first day of our new year; it’s a day when I dress up in the typical Maharashtrian attire for the pooja and prepare delicious food to welcome the new year. The Gudi that we put outside the door or window is a symbol of success and good life. During my childhood, I relished the sweets placed over the Gudi. All day, I used to wait for that Gudi to come down so that I could eat the sweets; I miss and cherish those memories. I would like to wish everybody a very happy Gudi Padwa and hope this New Year brings in a lot of happiness and success.”
Tushar Dalvi who plays the role of Sai Baba in Mere Sai: Shraddha aur Saburi says, “Being a Maharashtrian, Gudi Padwa is one of my most awaited festivals. Along with my whole family, I celebrate this day with lots of love and positivity. This festival marks the beginning of a new year for Maharashtrians and I have many fond memories of celebrating this special day over the years. From getting together with family and performing the puja to savoring some mouth-watering delicacies, Gudi Padwa will always be a special day for me. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous Gudi Padwa.
MasterChef India’s ‘Thecha Queen’ Suvarna Bagul spoke about the special Maharashtrian thali that she prepares each year on this day and said, “For Maharashtrians, Gudi Padwa is a day of new beginnings. While the world celebrates New Year on January 1st, we celebrate it on this day. I usually prepare a special thali for my family members on this day which is filled with Marathi delicacies. There is puran poli, shrikhand puri, kotambari vadi and of course my special thechaa. I also make aamti and complete the dish with rice. These are some of my signature dishes at home as well. My daughter relishes the puran polis, she absolutely loves them. This Gudi Padwa I hope people look back at the year that was and take a moment to breathe and envision their future. I hope that people continue to support me, even after MasterChef India so that I may fulfil my dreams of being a ‘MasterChef’.”
