Apart from the artistic performances by the stellar star-cast, the show also encompasses an impressive musical element composed by legendary music composer, lyricist and playback singer – Ravindra Jain.
As the narrative of Ramayan progresses, it incorporates musical notes in the form of Chaupai. The heart-rendering tones and authentic messaging have been an integral part of this mythological saga, and it’s no surprise that the purity of the music is cutting across generations and age groups. Sunil Lahri who played the part of Laxman continues to be moved by the lyrics and the melody of the songs.
Sunil Lahri says, “Ramayan has the most melodious music that I have heard till date. For any visual rendition of a mythological story, the music plays a crucial part in endearing it to audiences. Ravindra Jain Ji did a noteworthy task of composing musical pearls for this series. Such is the impact of his music, the even today people listen to it. Moreover, I feel Music has been the spinal cord of the show Ramayan and I consider Ravindra Jain ji as the ‘Saraswati Putra’. Furthermore, I am so moved that youngsters across the country are recreating songs from the Ramayan and sharing on social media. This is testimony of the timelessness and the power of Ramayan’s music.”
