Mithun Chakraborty as Retd. Divisional Commissioner Brahma Dutt questions the burning state of Kashmir valley in ‘The Kashmir Files’ – watch video!
After launching a hard-hitting motion poster of Anupam Kher’s character Pushkar Nath Pandit from ‘The Kashmir Files’ recently, the makers of the exodus drama have unveiled yet another intriguing motion poster of one of the key characters of the film Brahma Dutt, portrayed by the three-time National Award winner Mithun Chakraborty.
Brahma Dutt is an old retired Ex-Divisional Commissioner of J&K region. He has been a witness to Kashmiri Pandit genocide. Despite all his efforts, his friend Pushkar Nath Pandit’s family is driven out of Kashmir. He hasn’t spoken to Pushkar since and carries this burden of guilt all his life.
One of the major highlights of the poster is Mithun’s heartfelt voiceover as his character questions ‘Kashmir jal raha hai’ stating the plight of Kashmir and violence prevalent in the state.
Living up to its title, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community. It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.
