One of the finest and most successful filmmakers of Hindi cinema, Milan Luthira is eagerly awaiting the release of his highly-anticipated film, ‘Tadap’ that marks the debut of Ahan Shetty.

Having directed films like ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai’, ‘Taxi No. 9211’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’ in the past, Milan is excited about the encouraging response ‘Tadap’ has been receiving from the audience, who couldn’t stop raving about Ahan and Tara Sutaria’s sizzling on-screen chemistry and soulful music.

Talking about Ahan making his acting debut with ‘Tadap’, Milan says, “My journey with Ahan or his journey with me has been an unexpected and instinctive one. I didn’t know that something like this would come my way when Sajid (Nadiadwala) called me to talk about launching Ahan. I recalled a picture of his that I had seen a few months before that and I had liked it. There was something very endearing about him – a well-built guy with an air of innocence and integrity around him. So I asked if I could meet him. We met and he came across as a very open, straightforward young man and I decided that I should test him to see what kind of work we can do together. It went extremely well and I realised that though he is very soft-spoken and shy but he is extremely hardworking, observant and clever. I think actors who listen and absorb more than talking all the time are the actors who really convey intensity and emotions the best.”

“He (Ahan) reminded me of a very early Ajay Devgn, smouldering eyes, little underplay of emotions but still conveying them beautifully and not going over the top. Ahan is a sensitive actor and responds instinctively. I don’t think there is any method, except to go with what he feels. He did ask relevant questions. One thing I found very new and refreshing about him was that he never came to see the monitor. A lot of actors especially at the start of their careers want to see how they look or how the shot looks like and whether they want to do another take. Barring a couple of times, when I called Ahan and told him to see the monitor and how the shot has turned out, otherwise he didn’t bother. He puts in a lot of mental energy into his work, shuts off completely after pack up and gets into his own space by watching football or playing on the play station,” Milan adds.

Starring Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria, Fox Star Studios presents, ‘Tadap’, a Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Production. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, co-produced by Fox Star Studios, directed by Milan Luthria and written by Rajat Arora, ‘Tadap’ is scheduled to release on 3rd December, 2021.
