Netizens delighted to see Chetan Bhagat trying his hands at stand-up comedy with ‘One Mic Stand 2’ ; check what Chetan Bhagat has to say.
It’s a fun moment to see a diverse range of talented celebrities coming together under a single roof and bringing out their comic characters to entertain the audience. The new season of ‘One Mic Stand’ is round the corner and it seems to push the comedy meter a notch higher with a more empirical content.
The official trailer of ‘One Mic Stand Season 2’ released last Friday, the audience has its all eyes on and is looking forward to see the stellar performance of Chetan Bhagat in the show. The trailer gives a glimpse of famous writer Chetan Bhagat trying his hand at stand-up comedy for the first time ever.
Performing arts, especially stand-up comedy is however an uncharted territory for the writer. He was indeed a complete amature in terms of comedy, who turned more like a pro comedian post rigorous guiding by Abish Mathew. The bollywood movies including 3 Idiots and Hello, inspired by his books have been quite a success on Amazon Prime Video and his exuberant on-stage performance is set to enjoy similar success on the same platform. The fans are truly upholding their excitement and are eager to look forward Chetan Bhagat’s acting in the show.
Meanwhile, Chetan Bhagat also adds, “My books have inspired many bollywood films but after doing One Mic Stand 2, I realised the vast difference between writing and performing…I had no inhibitions going into it knowing that Abish Mathew was guiding me through the process…He made a complete amature like me sound like a pro comedian, and for that I think he deserves an award…Through the process I also learnt that a lot of jokes will stem from me, making jokes on yourself and people laughing at it I believe is better than them making jokes on you…This has been an interesting journey of books to OTT for me, one filled with lots of learning and laughter.”
‘One Mic Stand’ is an incredibly funny and acclaimed Amazon Original Series. The show featuring Chetan Bhagat alongside the other iconic figures including Karan Johar, Sunny Leone, Raftaar and Faye D’Souza, will premiere on October 22. The show will be hosted by Sapan Verma and participating celebrities will be mentored by comedians including Sumikhi Suresh, Samay Raina, Neeti Palta, Atul Khatri and Abish Mathew.
