“I feel that this character is God-sent to me”, says Nasirr Khan aka Niranjan Toshniwal from Sony SAB’s Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein
- How does it feel to be a part of Shubh Laabh – Aapkey Ghar Mein?
It feels great to be part of this unique show, Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein and I am very grateful to everyone for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this show and play a character as complex as Niranjan. My character Niranjan is very straightforward, aggressive by nature but also acknowledges his wife’s effort for maintaining the balance at home. This character is very relatable, and you come across such people in your regular lives. I was thrilled when this offer knocked at my door, and honestly speaking, I feel that this character is God-sent to me.
- What attracted you to accept this role?
The character Niranjan Toshniwal and the concept of the show is what attracted me to this show. I feel this is a character that viewers are familiar with, and he brings forth the challenges and the goodness of an Indian husband, son, and father. It’s a fascinating character to perform as an artist. Niranjan is hot headed and irritated person who has the tendency to lash out on his family members especially his wife Savita. It is a character that many of us have identified around us at some point in life. Whenever during the shoot, when I shout at Savita aka Geetanjali, I apologise to her right after the shot.
- What can audience expect from the show?
The show has a special connect and strikes a chord with the audience, they can expect a bag full of of emotions, an insightful and exciting journey towards self transformation and belief. The show also throws light at the sins that we unknowingly commit in our daily lives and the change that can tranfom our lives. The show is highly relatable at the crux which will certainly make our audience self reflect.
- Any similarities shared between you and your character?
Yes, I do relate with the character. It wasn’t a challenging task for me to get into the skin of the character since out of the seven sins that this show talks about, I have carried one of them during my childhood, which is anger. I was an angry kid. As I grew up, I understood the damage anger made in my life, and I know I wanted to change and not go down that path again.
- This is a women centric show, and you will be seen playing an important male character, what can the viewers expect?
I have been working in the industry for a long time and it is always a great opportunity to play the role as crucial as Niranjan. I also like to explore mature characters and I believe, with such an impeccable writing; the show will surely strike chord with the audience. But, with Shubh Laabh- Aapkey Ghar Mein, I am getting an opportunity to play this important lead character, and I am happy and satisfied with it.
- Have you come across any such incident that made you believe in God a little more than you used to?
I think this opportunity was God-sent to me. From reading the script to giving the audition and then things falling into place and signing the contract, this whole process made me believe in God a little more.
- According to you, what are the key rules to be followed while attaining self-transformation?
I believe the most important thing is to listen to others while trying to attain self-transformation. The other key factors include self-assessment and unbiased
introspection, and then try to change towards your better self.
- A message to your fans and viewers that you’d like to imbibe through this show?
I want my fans and viewers to watch this beautifully crafted story Shubh Laabh – Aapkey Ghar Mein, for its fantastic concept, and I can promise that this self-transformative journey that the show is taking the viewers on will be an enriching experience. With this show, I think the audience will be able to understand how the seven sins control our life and how as a human you can put an end to this vicious circle.
