The much-awaited movie in the MCU, Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings has finally hit the theatres today, which means it is a great day for Marvel fans. 3rd September,2021 might also be a great day for distributors and theatre owners with theatres opening with big releases like Shang Chi And The Legend Of Ten Rings and F9 this weekend! According to BOI reports, the advance of the film was sure to cross 1.50 crore nett and could even be 2 crore nett. It has an excellent advance at all the premium multiplexes which will mean PVR chain alone having business of around 60 lakh nett before release. According to film trade analysts, PVR chain alone has sold 28,772 tickets in advance, totaling to Rs 57 Lakh approx. To put things to perspective, this is almost 3x #BellBottom, setting for a very good start in multiplexes! While it is projected that Shang-Chi is in store for a Labor Day opening weekend record of $45M-$50M at 4,200+ theaters in US and Canada, we will just need to wait and watch how Marvel’s superhero movie saves the day in India.
