Sidharth Shukla strongly reacts to Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s comment on ‘rising rape cases’; read the tweets

Sidharth Shukla is known to be a man of his words and one who won’t mince them either. Following politics and news regularly, Sidharth might not be very active on social media but he does share his opinions on the latest happenings, setting him apart from the others in our industry. Sidharth took to twitter last night as he replied to a NY Times article which stated Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan has blamed a rise in rape cases on how women dressed. The PM stated, “Not every man has willpower. If you keep on increasing vulgarity, it will have consequences,” he said. Sidharth who has previously too spoken about gender equality and has a had a strong opinion on respect towards women reacted stating, “Wah re wah duniya walo…well in that case let’s consider castrating men who don’t have willpower.” Sidharth’s statement may have come across strong but whether its national television or social media, he has always stood strongly when it comes to his opinions, especially on such issues.

A Pakistani fan in turn came in defense stating that he felt that the PM had been misquoted to which Sidharth said, “Good if he didn’t say that bhai…he should sue @nytimes because its ridiculous and damaging for him and the country at large….haina” Well said Sidharth and its commendable that Sidharth regardless of fans or people in position of power, has always put forth his opinion and stood by what he feels is right. In an industry and society where many are busy following trends its rare to have someone like Shukla who has the courage to voice his opinions towards such imperative topics for the betterment of our society. Fans, both from India and Pakistan, came in Sidharth’s favor and were seen appreciating the actor for his honesty as well as approach.
