Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo wins big at the Bollywood Life Awards 2021
Stylish star Allu Arjun’s last theatrical release, the record-breaking Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo swept Bollywood Life Awards 2021 taking nine wins home. The superstar won ‘Best Actor Of South’, filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas won ‘Best Director Of South’, ‘Best Supporting Role in South’ went to Sushanth and the Allu Arjun-starrer won ‘Best Film Of South’ and ‘Best Script in South’, P. S. Vinod won ‘Best Cinematography’, the song Ramuloo Ramulaa won ‘Best Song’ , S. Thaman won ‘Best Music’ and the film’s boardroom meeting scene won ‘Best Scene of the Year’.
Much before the awards season, the stylish star won the audience over with his stellar presence, power-packed performance and killer dance moves. The last movie witnessed all these elements and it, therefore, comes as no surprise that it reigned over the said award ceremony.
The Allu Arjun-starrer raked in 262 crores and became the first South Indian film to hit the TRP of 29.4 beating the Baahubali duology. It was the first Telugu film to have touched such numbers. It also trended at no. 1 spot on the streaming platform Netflix for several months. The film’s first anniversary was celebrated by fans with much fanfare and the journey of the stylish star was elucidated through a rap performed by Roll Rida, Asura and Harika Narayan.
The nine big wins go to show that Allu Arjun has an unmatched connection with his fans from around the world. He is one of the rare stars to have headlined movies that are enjoyed by non-Telugu-speaking viewers as well. He is the favourite actor of many big names in Bollywood and the Hindi-dubbed versions of his films are just as popular as the original.
Directed by Trivikram Srininvasan, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo revolves around Bantu (essayed by Allu Arjun), who grows up being constantly subjected to his father’s scorn, until he learns of his real parentage and decides to carve a place for himself within the family he truly belongs to.
