Tanuj Virwani Becomes One of the Few Actors to Write, Produce, Direct and Release an iPhone-Shot Thriller, ‘Naash’

Actor Tanuj Virwani is breaking conventional filmmaking boundaries with Naash, an experimental thriller that he has written, produced and directed, shot entirely on an iPhone. The project marks a distinctive creative milestone, with portions filmed at his Lonavala farmhouse alongside locations in Kerala and Hong Kong.

Taking complete creative ownership of the project, Tanuj explores the possibilities of filmmaking through a smartphone, demonstrating how storytelling can go beyond traditional production setups. The film’s nighttime thriller sequences presented their own challenges, making the experience both immersive and demanding.

Speaking about the project, Tanuj said, “I wanted to experiment with the medium and see how far we could push ourselves creatively by shooting an entire film on an iPhone.”

With Naash, Tanuj Virwani ventures beyond acting to showcase his vision as a filmmaker, embracing an unconventional approach to bringing a thriller from concept to screen and release.
