Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Applauds Actor-Director Prasad Oak at Maharashtra State Film Awards: ‘Prasad Oak Is Truly a 360-Degree Man’

Renowned actor, director, writer and producer Prasad Oak was honoured with the prestigious K. V. Shantaram Vishesh Yogdan Puraskar 2026 (Special Contribution Award) at the 62nd Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards, recognising his significant contribution to Marathi cinema and the arts.

Speaking at the ceremony, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Oak’s versatility, describing him as a “360-degree man” who has excelled across multiple creative disciplines.

“Prasad Oak, who is loved by all of us, is an accomplished director and an exceptionally talented artist. In the field of art, he can truly be regarded as a ‘360-degree man’ someone equally accomplished across various facets of the creative world,” said Fadnavis.

Fadnavis also acknowledged Oak’s contribution to television, particularly Maharashtra Chi Hasya Jatra, where he has entertained audiences both as a performer and a judge.

Highlighting Oak’s memorable portrayals of iconic personalities, Fadnavis said, “Today, Prasad Oak is synonymous with Dharmaveer Anand Dighe. And perhaps next year, we may have to say, ‘Prasad Oak means Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj.’”

Speaking about his performance in Dharmaveer, Fadnavis praised Oak’s ability to bring authenticity and life to every character. He also congratulated the actor on completing 125 films, joking that a Lifetime Achievement Award would have to wait, as “there are still many more awards waiting for you.”

He concluded by wishing Oak continued success and many more milestones in his illustrious career.
