“Our familiarity brought an effortless naturalness to our chemistry” says Chhavi Pandey on reuniting with Iqbal Khan on Sony SAB’s Yaadein

Sony SAB’s Yaadein continues to entertain audiences with its unique mix of humour, heart, everyday relationships and intriguing medical mysteries. As Dr Dev Mehta (Iqbal Khan) and Dr. Preeti Deshmukh (Chhavi Pandey) take a major step forward with Dr Dev proposing marriage to Dr Preeti, their equation is set to bring a new dynamic to the story.

For Chhavi, stepping into this journey came with a familiar comfort. Having worked with Iqbal before, the actress found herself returning to a set with a co-star whose working style she already knew. Having worked together previously, the two did not have to start from scratch, allowing their camaraderie to naturally find its way into the equation between Dr Preeti and Dr Dev. Whether it is exchanging a quick joke between takes, instinctively understanding the rhythm of a scene, or simply having the comfort of a familiar co-actor around, that existing bond helped Chhavi settle into the team with ease.

Talking about how her previous association with Iqbal helped her settle into Yaadein, Chhavi Pandey, shares, “There is something very comforting about working with someone you have already worked with. When I came to Yaadein, Iqbal and I already had that familiarity, so I didn’t feel like I was meeting a co-actor for the first time. There was an immediate ease, and that really helped me, especially because I was entering a show where everyone already had an established equation. We could joke around, discuss scenes and understand each other’s rhythm without having to spend too much time finding that comfort. I think our familiarity brought an effortless naturalness to our chemistry. What I enjoy most is that Iqbal is such a giving actor, he leaves room for you to respond and play with the scene. So, even when Dr Preeti is being her usual chaotic, talkative self, Dr Dev’s reactions make those moments even more enjoyable.”
