As a cursed mummy stirs mystery in Sony SAB’s Yaadein, the cast reveal the childhood myths they once believed

Sony SAB’s Yaadein entertains audiences with its unique blend of humour and intriguing medical mysteries. While the doctors at the hospital are usually seen solving unusual medical cases, the upcoming track takes a spooky turn as a mysterious cursed mummy at the hospital leaves everyone puzzled and searching for answers.

While the on-screen mystery may have everyone guessing, off-screen the cast had plenty of amusing childhood beliefs to laugh about. From avoiding black cats and believing ghosts were real to keeping good news a secret until it actually happened, each actor had a superstition they once thought was absolutely true. The candid conversation quickly turned into a fun exchange of stories, with everyone sharing how these beliefs stayed with them long before they knew better.

Gulki Joshi, who plays Dr Srishty Agarwal, said, “I always believed that you shouldn’t tell anyone good news before it actually happens because it might not come true. It’s something I heard growing up and for the longest time I followed it without even questioning it. Whether it was an audition, an exam result, or something exciting I was looking forward to, I’d keep it to myself. Today I don’t believe in it the same way, but it’s funny how certain childhood beliefs stay with you for years before you realise they’re simply stories we have grown up hearing.”

Arjun Punjj who plays Diggy shared, “One thing I genuinely believed while growing up was that if a black cat crossed your path, something unlucky would happen. I clearly remember stopping and waiting for someone else to cross it first. At that age, it felt completely normal because everyone around me believed it too. Looking back now, it makes me smile because we accepted these myths without ever questioning them. It’s funny how fearless we can be in some situations, yet so scared of harmless little superstitions as kids.”

Avinn Tyagi who plays Dr Abeer revealed, “When I was a child, I genuinely believed that if I looked into a mirror at midnight, I would see something supernatural behind me! I don’t even remember where I heard it from, but it was enough to keep me away from mirrors at night for years. Looking back it is funny how our imagination can make even the smallest things feel terrifying. Thankfully, I’ve outgrown those fears now.”

Devish Ahuja, who plays Dr Raunak, added, “As kids someone convinced me that if I whistled at night it would invite ghosts into the house. I believed it so much that I would not even hum after sunset! It’s funny now, but back then it felt completely real. Working on this mysterious mummy track has been such a nostalgic experience because it’s brought back all those innocent childhood fears we once thought were true.”
