World Bicycle Day: Sony SAB’s Yaadein cast reveals how cycling keeps them active and refreshed
From childhood memories of riding through neighbourhood lanes to using it today as a fun way to stay active, cycling continues to be a favourite fitness activity for many. Celebrated every year on 3rd June, World Bicycle Day, the occasion shines a spotlight on the health benefits of cycling, from improving stamina, health to helping people unwind and recharge. Marking the day, Sony SAB’s Yaadein artists Iqbal Khan, Arjun Punjj, Srishti Singh and Devish Ahuja share their personal connection with cycling and how this simple yet effective activity helps them stay fit, refreshed and energized amidst their busy schedules.
Arjun Punjj, who essays the role of Diggy, shared, “Cycling is one of those activities that never feels like a workout. Whenever I get the opportunity, I prefer outdoor cycling because it’s a great way to stay active while also enjoying a change of scenery. It never feels repetitive or monotonous since every ride is different. Given our busy schedules, cycling is one activity that helps me maintain my fitness while also giving me a chance to switch off, clear my mind and enjoy the moment. World Bicycle Day is the perfect occasion to celebrate an activity that is both enjoyable and beneficial for health.”
Srishti Singh, who essays the role of Dr Vaani Gupta, shared, “I’ve always believed that fitness should be enjoyable and cycling is exactly that. It improves stamina, keeps the body active, and is easy on the joints. Most of my cycling happens at the gym and has become an important part of my fitness routine. It’s one of my favourite forms of cardio because it’s effective, convenient and easy to fit into a packed schedule. Even on days when I don’t have much time, a quick cycling session helps me feel more active, refreshed, and ready to take on the rest of the day. World Bicycle Day is a wonderful reminder of how simple activities can make a big difference to our overall well-being.”
Devish Ahuja, who essays the role of Dr Raunak Bhatia, shared, “For me, outdoor cycling is as much about the experience as it is about fitness. I enjoy exploring new places and going on rides with friends because it combines adventure with staying active. At the same time, cycling at the gym is something I do regularly to keep up with my cardio, especially on hectic days when stepping out isn’t possible. It’s a simple activity that keeps me moving no matter what my schedule looks like. On World Bicycle Day, I’d definitely encourage everyone to pick up a cycle and go for a ride, even if it’s just for a little while.”
Tune in to watch Yaadein, every Monday to Saturday at 8:00 PM, only on Sony SAB.
