Hyundai and UMGB launch Season 3 of Hyundai Spotlight

Hyundai Motor India and Universal Music Group for Brands (UMGB) – part of Universal Music India – announced the launch of Season 3 of their popular music property – Hyundai Spotlight, today in a press conference held in Mumbai. Hyundai Spotlight is an artist-forward initiative that brings established and emerging talent on a common platform, to collaborate and create memorable music together. Started in Dec 2021, and spearheaded by Hyundai, in an endeavour to create an inclusive musical narrative in India, Hyundai Spotlight has consistently sought teaming up a well-known artist with a promising young musician, to create an original track, followed by an acoustic version of the same song. It’s all about blending styles and pushing creative boundaries between an unlikely set of artists, ultimately resulting in superlative music.

Leveraging the artist strength of Universal Music India, Hyundai Spotlight has seen some of the most popular names in the music business collaborate over the last two seasons. They include King, Astha Gill, Jassie Gill, Benny Dayal, Shilpa Rao, Nikhita Gandhi, Arjun Kanungo, Hip Hop Tamizha, Gurnazar and Ikky among others. The first two seasons have produced twelve songs, which has garnered over 140 million views on Youtube. The latest season – Season 3 – has popular artists like Javed Ali, Aditya Rikhari, Wazir Patir, Gajendra Verma, DigV collaborate with young artists like Vidhya Gopal, Jeona Sandhu and Ravator. The first song from Season 3 is a track tiled Koyal, which sees the collective talent of Javed Ali, DigV and Vidhya Gopal converge, and has just been released.

Commenting on the launch of Hyundai Spotlight Season 3, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said “At Hyundai, innovation and customer experience are at the heart of everything we do. Hyundai Spotlight embodies this vision, creating a platform that blends talent with innovation to deliver unparalleled entertainment. More than just a stage, it’s a movement that nurtures and empowers young Indian artists to express themselves through music. Our collaboration with UMGB over the past two years has been incredibly rewarding, built on a shared commitment to excellence. As we launch the third edition, I am confident that this year will be an even greater success, driven by the energy and artistry of exceptional musicians from across our vibrant nation.”

Devraj Sanyal, Chairman and CEO, India and South Asia, SVP Strategy, AMEA, Universal Music Group, said “Artist-first is a motto that we at UMG have ingrained within our very fabric. It’s at the core of our business and with Hyundai, we have found the perfect partner to take this forward into the consumer space. The very thought of giving new emerging music talent a chance to collaborate with some of the most established names in the business, in order to create music that is at once relevant and resonates, is an exciting one – we applaud this, and we stand as proud collaborators with Hyundai on this journey, as we enter Season 3.
