The Script Was Quite Strong: Rohit Choudhary on Coming on Board as Co-Producer for Vanvaas
Rohit Choudhary is thrilled about the release of his film Vanvaas, which he has co-produced. The movie, which hit the screens on December 20, also features him in the role of an NDRF officer. He shared that donning the hats of both actor and producer was not at all challenging for him. He emphasized that he believed in the script and was confident it would make for a compelling story.
“I am a businessman, so I invested in the movie because the script was quite strong. Acting is my passion, and co-producing the movie was my choice because I knew it would make a great film. Had the script been weak, I would not have invested. Today, action movies are quite popular, but this genre is hardly explored. That’s the good part—since such movies are rarely made today, it makes this project quite unique, and I am sure it will be appreciated by the audience,” he said.
Vanvaas revolves around an elderly man, played by Nana Patekar, who is abandoned in Banaras by his family. The movie has been well-received by both audiences and critics, and Rohit couldn’t be happier.
“People appreciated the movie, and whosoever watched it was left teary-eyed. I am sure the audience will resonate with the film and realize that elderly parents are not a burden but an asset, and they should take care of them,” he said.
“There is a dialogue in the movie that says, ‘Maa-baap ka karam hai bachchon ko palna, aur bachchon ka dharam hai maa-baap ko sambhalna.’ I think kids these days are forgetting their dharam—the responsibility to take care of their parents. It could be due to career pressures or a million other things, so our film is here to remind them of this,” he added.
For Rohit, the most important takeaway from the movie was the focus on “family values and the bond.” He shared, “I missed my father the most while shooting for it.”
