Mumbai’s Warm Winter Doesn’t Dull Aditya Deshmukh’s Love for the Season

Mumbai’s Warm Winter Doesn’t Dull Aditya Deshmukh’s Love for the Season

As Mumbai experiences what could be its warmest winter yet, actor Aditya Deshmukh—renowned for his role in Ziddi Dil Maane Na—opens up about his love for the season, his go-to winter fashion choices, and the unique charm of facing “winters” in a city that barely gets chilly.

“Winter is just around the corner. Do you think Mumbai even has a winter, or is it just a cooler summer?” Aditya quips with a laugh. With the mercury recently hitting 37.3°C—Mumbai’s highest December temperature in 16 years—he isn’t wrong. “Winters haven’t really started yet, and it’s already December! I love winters, though—they’re my favorite season. They have a way of energizing you, especially with all the competitions and activities. But honestly, we’re still waiting for that typical winter chill. Hopefully, things change soon—I really believe that,” he adds.

Despite his love for the cooler months, Aditya admits that Mumbai’s version of winter doesn’t quite compare to the ones he’s experienced in Delhi or Kashmir. “Walking on the streets with headphones on—that’s something I genuinely miss about proper winters. Here in Mumbai, it’s different. You’re lucky if you even get a slight breeze at carters!”

And while he doesn’t have many winter-specific memories, Aditya’s on-set antics during filming in winters have earned him a reputation as a “professional napper.” Laughing, he shares, “I love sleeping—especially when I’m not shooting. During breaks, I doze off, and my co-actors always capture funny photos. I remember one scene from Ziddi Dil Maane Na where I was literally sleeping, and Shaalien made a video about my so-called method acting. Good times!”

When it comes to winter dressing in Mumbai, Aditya keeps it cool and casual. “For mild winters, I usually go for sweatshirts or hoodies—whether I’m heading to a movie or a club. If it’s slightly colder, I’ll add a leather jacket to the mix. It’s all about layering just enough to stay cozy without overheating,” he says. For those seeking styling tips, he has a simple mantra: comfort is key. “Go with the flow and dress for the weather. Pair a sweater or a leather jacket with blue jeans, and finish the look with boots, sneakers, or whatever works for you. For parties, a little hair gel can elevate your style. Hoodies, pullovers, jackets—anything cozy and stylish is perfect for Mumbai winters. Just find your vibe!”

While Mumbai may not have snowy streets or frosty mornings, Aditya Deshmukh remains optimistic about the city’s seasonal quirks. “Winters, man! They’re the best. Even though Mumbai doesn’t really get cold, there’s still something magical about this time of year. Here’s hoping we finally get that cool weather we’ve been waiting for.”

For now, he’s embracing Mumbai’s ‘cooler summer’ with his signature charm and style—sweatshirts, naps, and all.
