‘Animal’ Debate Heats Up on Indian Idol 15: Sandeep Reddy Vanga Responds to Javed Akhtar’s Criticism of the Film
This weekend, the much-loved singing reality show, Indian Idol Season 15, on Sony Entertainment Television will be ‘Celebrating One Year of Animal’, in the presence of its director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In this special episode, Sandeep Reddy Vanga will join as a guest to share his inspiring journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the most talked-about directors in the industry.
Idol ki Ziddi Girl – Myscmme Bosu delivered a captivating performance of the song “Satranga,” earning praise from the judges for her expressiveness. Shreya Ghoshal, in particular, praised Myscmee’s emotional depth, saying, “No one expresses a song better than Myscmee.” Even special guest Sandeep Reddy Vanga was impressed, commenting, “I’ve never heard this song in a female version, but I loved it.”
Myscmee, a big fan of Sandeep’s film, Animal, revealed that she had watched the movie three times. This led to a debate with fellow contestant Manasi, who disagreed with the film’s portrayal of certain scenes. Myscmee expressed frustration, saying, “I’ve tried to convince her about how Animal makes sense, but she’s not convinced. I want Sandeep Sir to explain it to her.”
Manasi, on the other hand, wasn’t shy in expressing her concerns, particularly in one controversial scene. “There’s this scene with ‘mera joota chato,’ and I personally have a problem with it, Sir,” she stated. Sandeep, visibly taken aback, shot back, “You have a problem with the joota chato scene, but no problem with the hero killing 300 people?”. Manasi responded, “Yes, there is a problem.”.
The conversation then took a sharper turn when Manasi referenced Indian screenwriter, lyricist and poet, Javed Akhtar and his recent comments on the movie. “Javed Akhtar said it’s dangerous for society, and I agree with him,” she stated. Sandeep responded, “If Javed Ji wasn’t a lyricist or story writer, I’d take his words seriously.”
Don’t miss the ongoing drama and powerful performances on Indian Idol Season 15, this weekend at 9 PM only on Sony Entertainment Television.
