Meghla hails from Bengali background, whereas Ranbir is from Punjabi background.
With the recent promo of the show Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha, the audience witnessed a unique encounter between the Bajwas and Sens and a fusion of Meghla and Ranbir’s two distinct cultures and ideologies, where Meghla is Bengali and Ranbir is a Punjabi Munda. It will be compelling to witness how these two individuals with two different cultures collide, and what happens next is interesting to watch. The audience will undoubtedly be intrigued and captured by the show’s clash of cultures.
This is for the first time Sonakshi Batra will be associating with Star Plus with the show Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha. Sonakshi Batra will be seen portraying the character of Meghla, who is a Bengali and a singer by profession. The actress has previously starred in shows like Nima Denzongpa and 14 Phere. The excitement and anticipation to watch Sonakshi Batra along with Fahmaan Khan has indeed reached its peak, and just like you, we too cannot wait for this.
Sonakshi Batra, aka Meghla, from the Star Plus show Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha shares, “Portraying Meghla has been wonderful; Meghla is a pure soul. I am just thoroughly enjoying playing Meghla on screen. Moreover, since she’s a singer and a lot of episodes involve her practicing Hindustani classical music, I get to listen to and practice several new songs and Raagas-based Bandish. Along with the dialogues, I have to memorize a lot of songs too and have to be mindful of how the song has originally been sung by the singer and get a proper hold of the singer’s nuances.
Meghla is a straightforward Delhi girl who aspires to lead a simple life, is passionate about singing, loves her family, and would act in her family’s best interests. When it comes to making decisions for her life,
Her family would take precedence over her will. She’s someone you can rely upon. In several aspects I can relate to Meghla, I too have a close-knit family; from the tiniest to the biggest decision is taken with consideration of my parents and my sister. Even I have a fondness for music and love singing. Although I am not as trained in Hindustani classical music as Meghla is, I am familiar with it having studied Hindustani classical music when I was young.”.
Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha to air from 16th September at 7.20pm on Star Plus.
