Jannat Zubair brings a flavourful feast to COLORS’ ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’
COLORS is all set to serve ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment’, a one-of-a-kind culinary-comedy crossover that brings an extravaganza of non-stop entertainment. Twelve popular entertainers are entering a chaotic kitchen for an epic cooking showdown that’s sure to be a blast. From messing up recipes to cracking jokes, they’re poised to stir up a storm of laughter. This kitchen will be graced by stars donning the chef’s hat including Krushna Abhishek – Kashmera Shah, Vicky Jain – Ankita Lokhande, Rahul Vaidya – Aly Goni, Reem Sameer Shaikh – Jannat Zubair, Karan Kundrra – Arjun Bijlani, and Sudesh Lehri – Nia Sharma. Adding the tadka of her humour is the one and only comedy queen Bharti Singh, with Celebrity Chef Coach Harpal Singh Sokhi lending a helping hand to the novice chefs and rating their dishes. Among the laughter chefs, Jannat Zubair shares her experience of stepping aboard this laugh riot.
Excerpts below:
1. What drew you to participate in a show that combines cooking and comedy?
A. I don’t know much about cooking, and I’ve never been involved in anything that combines comedy and cooking. This unique combination is very interesting, and I’m thrilled to step aboard.
2. Which celebrity pair do you see as your biggest competition and why?
A. To be very honest, Reem Shaikh and I don’t feel we have any competition because we haven’t seen the other contestants’ cooking skills yet. Whenever we meet them, they all say they don’t know how to cook. We can’t tell who’s being truthful and who’s not. Given the current situation, I feel that Reem and I might be good cooks, so maybe we are their competition.
3. How will you strike a balance between managing the chaos of the kitchen and offering unlimited entertainment?
A. I haven’t been part of such a show before, so I think I’ll just go with the flow. Nothing is planned.
4. How do you handle the pressure of the competition, especially if things don’t go as planned in the kitchen?
A. When I can’t cook, I will just laugh because it’s important to keep entertaining the audience. If cooking isn’t working out, we switch to having fun instead. And if we’re not cooking, we’re probably making jokes and keeping things light-hearted.
5. What’s the biggest kitchen mishap you’ve encountered in real life, and how do you think you will handle these mishaps on the show?
A. Nothing major, just a little bit of food burning.
6. If your cooking style were a superhero, what would its superpower be?
A. I wish for a superpower where I could absorb someone else’s cooking skills into myself. For instance, I’d love to possess all of Chef Harpal Singh’s culinary expertise.
7. Picture yourself as a dish on a restaurant menu – what quirky name would you give yourself?
A. Sweet chilli Jannat!
8. If you had to cook something for survival, what would it be?
A. It would be aloo paratha.
