One of the most highly anticipated and prestigious awards nights of the year, 69th edition of Filmfare Awards, grabbed eyeballs as top celebrities walked the red carpet at GIFT City in Gujarat recently. While it honoured the artistic and technical excellence of cinema and felicitated the inspiring journeys of countless luminaries, filmmakers, and technicians during the awards evening, it also saw the who’s who of B-town setting the stage afire with scintillating performances. All eyes are glued to ZEE as it’ll be the first time that the network will air the Filmfare Awards. The 69th Filmfare Awards 2024 will air 9 pm onwards on 18th February on Zee TV, Zee Anmol, Zest, Zing.

While the audience has already given immense love to Bollywood’s heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor’s latest movie- Animal, he also received the award for the Best Actor in a leading role (Male) for his exceptional performance in the film.

Ranbir Kapoor said, “I would like to dedicate this award to three people in my life- starting with the Champion of ‘Animal’- Mr. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Sir, you are by far the most original and cinematic directors I have worked with, and it has truly been an honour to collaborate with you. The amount of belief and faith that you showed towards me, it really encouraged me, Vanga you won! The second person I would like to dedicate this award to is Mr. Rishi Kapoor, ‘papa meri jaan’, every day I think of you, I remember you, and everything that I feel for you, the love and affection, I have tried to channelize it through this part, and I hope you are up there, you are at peace, you are resting and you are happy. And last, but not the least, my daughter Raha, you were born and a week later I started shooting of ‘Animal’ and every single day, just to come home to you, has been the most joyful experience of my life.”

In addition to winning the award, Ranbir gave a Dhamakedar performance as he made a swaggy entry to the song Arjan Vailly through the crowd in a life-size iconic gun prop, from his film- Animal. He even grooved to his songs Pyaar Hota Kayi Baar Hai, Jamal Kudu, Show Me The Thumka, and gave a romantic performance to the love anthem of the year Pehle Bhi Main with his co-actor and the National crush – Tripti Dimri, that won everyone’s heart.
