Director Nishank Swami opens up on new music video Ek Tu Hi Hai

Director Nishank Swami has come up with a brand new music video Ek Tu Hi Hai. While the music video is his first directorial venture, it has been produced by Bhushan Kumar & T series and composed and penned by Tanishk Bagchi.
“I wanted one of the two actors to be known, so when we finalised the male actor Akshay Anand, he turned out to be a newcomer. When I met him, I realised he could play the role of a rich-looking guy. For the female character, Aditi, I wanted a simple-looking girl with distinct facial features. Being from Nepal, she had a unique face, so I chose Aditi Budhathoki,” he says, talking about the casting process.

He adds, “ I developed a concept for T Series, and fortunately, they liked it. I have dedicated 12 years of hard work to this project, firmly believing that when you work hard, the universe conspires to help you achieve your goals. I have given my utmost to prove myself, and I am hopeful of producing quality work. The video is receiving positive feedback, with people appreciating and commenting on it.”

The shoot was also an interesting one, says Nishank, adding, “Even though the story is not directly related to Bangkok, I chose to shoot it there because the location was essential to my vision. I strongly believe that both the location and the characters play a crucial role in storytelling, and I was determined not to compromise on the location. I made sure to capture everything that was required within the frame, ensuring that the setting perfectly aligned with my vision.”

Ask him what is the USP of the song, and he says, “The unique selling proposition (USP) of the song lies in its ability to tell a beautiful and emotionally resonant story, which has been executed exceptionally well. This is what sets it apart from many of today’s music videos. In order to captivate and retain the audience’s attention, it is important to provide them with engaging content. Merely showcasing actions is not enough; viewers crave storylines that they can connect with, and the visuals should align with the lyrics. I made an effort to craft a narrative that feels like a mini film within the span of 3 to 4 minutes. Tseries has even acknowledged that this is their most significant content of the year, further highlighting the impact and quality of the production.”
