Father’s Day Special: COLORS’ actors reflect on what fatherhood means to them
Gashmeer Mahajani essaying the role of Armaan in COLORS’ ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’ says, “As an actor, I’ve played a variety of roles, but the best one I’ve embodied in real life is that of being a father to my son Vyom. When he was born, I pledged that he would have everything that I didn’t. The journey of being a father has been the most rewarding and fulfilling. It made me appreciate and think deeply about everything my father has done for me. I’m so grateful to have my father guide me as I raise my son and teach him the value of time and relationships. No matter how tired I am, I read a bedtime story to Vyom whenever I’m home and take him out for his football practice. Fatherhood has enriched my life and it continues to teach me how I can be a better son to my father. Happy World Father’s Day to all the dads, sons and daughters out there!”
Tarun Khanna essaying the role of Indra in COLORS’ ‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyag Tandav’ says, “I live by the lessons of sincerity, hard work, and responsibility my father taught me. He made sure that I understood the importance of family and friendship and I have shaped my relationships with the values he imbibed in me. As a father myself, I strive to instill the same discipline in my son. No matter how busy I am amid shoot schedules, I make it a point to be there for my son. I want to be part of all his milestones, and I am the most excited when he is trying something new. My father is my first hero and I aspire to be the same for my son.”
Aakriti Sharma essaying the role of Bindiya in COLORS’ ‘Suhaagan’ says, “Whenever I’m away from my dad, I miss his sense of humor the most. His jokes are the running laugh gags in our family and I’ve always said that he deserves his comedy show. His comic timing is awesome, and he can make everything seem fun. He taught me the beauty of laughing at challenging times. I’m thankful beyond words to have his guidance and unwavering support in everything that I’m thrilled to pursue. I’m living my dream of being an actor because of him. He has always encouraged me to have my opinion and that has shaped my perspective towards my work in the most drastic way. I talk to him whenever I need a mindset makeover. On this World Father’s Day, I want to tell him that I love him and he will always be my rock.”
Gautam Singh Vig essaying the role of Jordan in COLORS’ ‘Junooniyatt’ says, “Every day I see a little bit more of my father in me. When I think about my father, my heart fills with pride and affection. His hard work, struggles, and strength inspire me to overcome the challenges of life. My father is my superhero and my biggest fan. It tears me up to see him feel proud of the work I’ve done. I can see his desire to give me the best of everything. Nothing is more important to him than watching me celebrate life. His tidbits of wisdom have saved me from more troubles than I can remember. I hope I can be as wise and optimistic as him.”
