Kolkata’s young lad Ranodip’s ‘Thumka’ packed performance wins hearts on India’s Best Dancer Season 3
With a spectacular display of great dancers, the third season of “India’s Best Dancer” on Sony Entertainment Television has already raised the bar when it comes to showcasing varied dance styles! Viewers were thrilled to witness the high calibre of talent that was introduced in the Audition Round last week. With an aim to pick the best of the best, Judges Sonali Bendre, Terence Lewis, and Geeta Kapoor assessed the performances on Entertainment – Emotion – Newness & Technique as the E.E.N.T specialists. Continuing the streak of phenomenal performances in this upcoming weekend will be contestant Ranodip Poddar from West Bengal, whose brilliant rendition of Bharatanatyam on the song ‘Thumkeshwari’ will make Terence Lewis declare it to be a “Chummeshwari” performance!
17 year old Ranodip Poddar will express his love for dance and how much it means to him, sharing, “Dance is a way through which I express my emotions. And it was dance that helped me fight back depression. There was a point in time when nobody used to talk to me in school, if I used to sit on a bench others used to leave two seats and then sit. My neighbours and relatives used to pass negative comments on me and my parents. People used to look down upon him because I was different, as I was not interested in cricket or other sports but dance and makeup. There were days when all of us used to cry to bed every night, but my parents stood next to me and supported me throughout my journey. And today when I am standing here on the stage of India’s Best Dancer, I feel proud that my parents are proud of who I am.”
The three judges would be left teary eyed after listening to Ranodip’s story. Touched by the support Ranodip’s parents have given him, Judge Terence Lewis will go on to give them a big hug and will salute them for their courage.
Will Ranodip’s moves prove worthy enough to take him ahead in the journey of India’s Best Dancer Season 3?
