My teachers taught me to respect and acknowledge hard work: Sumit Khetan

 

Teachers play a significant role in our upbringing and that’s why they are as revered by students and parents alike. Teacher’s Day, which is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a much-loved teacher, scholar and politician whose work in the field of education has been exemplary. For artistic director and luxury wedding choreographer, Sumit Khetan, Teacher’s Day is very special, as it reminds him of his teachers who’ve imparted invaluable lessons that have helped in life so far. “Teachers Day is definitely a special day in my life,” he says, adding, “It’s always said that learning never ends, as you keep learning each and every day. My teachers often told me that learning can come from anywhere and is not just limited to schools or any institutions. So, one has to be open to receiving it.”

In a short span of 10 years in showbiz, Sumit has established himself as someone who is known to come up with out-of-the-box ideas. He and his team of talented choreographers and instructors won seven awards at GIWA – The Great Indian Wedding Awards Community Organisation recently. As he continues to add to his achievements, the advice given by his teachers comes to his mind. He says, “Most of my teachers have always taught me to respect the people who are working for you. They said that one should always give credit for hard work and this is what I still carry with me. No matter who works with me, I ensure that they are credited for the work they do on my projects.”

Sumit has worked with big names like Ayushmann Khurrana, Mouni Roy, Rithvik Dhanjani, Gauahar Khan, Karishma Tanna, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Disha Parmar and Rahul Vaidya.
