It’s bananas! The ‘Mini Boss’ and his Minions have once again taken over the box office with their crazy escapades. Universal Pictures today in an announcement revealed that as of August 18, 2022, Minions: The Rise of Gru has been running successfully for over 50 glorious days in the Indian theatres. In these 50 days, this movie grossed over INR 180 Million in India and an overall international collection of over USD 1.2 Billion, as per official box office figures. The movie is expected to do more business in the coming days as the anticipation and excitement among fans seems unlikely to die down anytime soon!
Minions: The Rise of Gru is the fifth entry in the overall Despicable Me franchise and a sequel to the spinoff prequel movie: Minions (2015). Minions: The Rise of Gru captures the untold story of the twelve-year-old Gru’s (played by Steve Carell) dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain. Set in the 1970s, the movie explains the origin point where Gru meets the Minions and thus begins a strong, inseparable alliance between them.
