This year, Emraan Hashmi while wishing the nation on January 26, posted, “On the special occasion of Republic Day @panormamisic_ presents a sarod rendition by rendition of ‘Vaisnav Jana To’ by the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan along with @AmaanAliBagash and @AyaanAli Nagash @AAKSarod @Kumar Mangat.”

The actor was referring to the sarod maestro and his sons’ three-minute rendition of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite bhajan. The recital spreads the message of universal peace and non-violence while celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence.

The one-of-its-kind collaboration forged an instant connection with Abhishek Bachchan as well who tweeted the link to the video, exulting, “Happy Republic Day! Jai Hind”, with an emoji of the Indian tri-colour.
