The actor was referring to the sarod maestro and his sons’ three-minute rendition of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite bhajan. The recital spreads the message of universal peace and non-violence while celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence.

The one-of-its-kind collaboration forged an instant connection with Abhishek Bachchan as well who tweeted the link to the video, exulting, “Happy Republic Day! Jai Hind”, with an emoji of the Indian tri-colour.

The recital, released on January 25 on Panorama Music’s YouTube Channel and other audio streaming platforms, is quietly meditative, keeping the divine essence of the hymn intact. In a world of everyday strife, where people are fighting each other on the grounds of race and religion, “Vaishbav Jana To” becomes even more symbolic as the elixir for the sustenance of global harmony and brotherhood.
