Gayatri Bhardwaj: ‘Even though I had never modelled before Miss India, I have been doing it ever since’
In the year 2018, Gayatri Bhardwaj represented Delhi in the Miss India contest and even without any prior modelling experience, she ended the night as one of the finalists, accomplishing the right to be the Indian delegate at the Miss United Continents pageant, where she made the country proud by securing a place in the Top 10. Since then, Gayatri has been a regular on the ramp and recently she made an impressive screen debut with the web show Dhindora opposite comedian-actor Bhuvan Bam.
Speaking about her journey, Gayatri shares, “Even though I had never modelled before Miss India, I have been doing it ever since. Throughout that process I realised that moving camera was more my speed and I was a natural in front of the camera. That really made me transition into acting,” she shares, pointing out that she didn’t straightaway jumped into auditioning but prepared herself first. “When I put in the work, I feel confident. So, I did take a lot of workshops and prepared a lot, and when you do that, it makes you confident about auditions and then you are able to crack them.”
However, Gayatri just didn’t just see the happening part of the industry and made this decision. “I knew how hard it was going to be. It’s very difficult to be completely present and give your 100 percent each time. But I am hopeful that I learn these skills and I know with time, patience and consistency I will. I have so much to learn from my peers and from people I look up to. I just want to absorb everything from them like a sponge and that is what my superpower is,” she chuckles.
The actress impressed the audience and the industry with her portrayal of a doctor in the comedy series Dhindora, and now she has some more interesting offers in the line up that will explore more facets of her craft. Gayatri is steadily climbing the ladder of success and will soon be a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
