Celebrated Designer Anjali Phougat shares her Karwa Chauth plans for this year

Designer Anjali Phougat of Dream Collection, who resides in the USA, celebrates Karwa Chauth in an almost picture perfect way. She has been following all the rituals and traditions over the years. She says,”On the occasion of Karwa Chauth vrat, I keep fast from sunrise to sunset and do not eat or drink anything during the fasting period. I wear traditional dresses like saari or lehenga and also apply henna on my hands. In the evening I will do my pooja and rotate thali with friends and will celebrate it the same way I used to do in India.”

So what changes have marriage bought in your life? “I get to live my dream life and never have to be concerned about circumstances that are often beyond my control. Two heads are better than one. When you come together as partners to solve problems, it takes the weight off of one another. The best thing about marriage is that you get to spend the rest of your life with a best friend.” Anjali also has planned a special outfit for the festival. She adds,”I always wear red or pinks on Karwa Chauth and will continue the tradition this year and planning to wear red and pink saree dress.”
