Prreit Kamal shares about her equation with Fer mamla gadbad hai starrer and co-star Ninja, upcoming films and more

Punjabi industry is one of the most active and leading industry – how do you feel being part of this industry
I feel blessed to be a part of Punjabi Film Industry. I think we are one of the fastest growing regional film industries in the country today and that makes me so proud. Our movies have actually played a big part in reviving cinema across the county post the pandemic. We are competing with big industries nationally and globally and that makes me really excited for my future.

How was it shooting for Fer mamla gadbad hai and ninja ?
It was the first time I was shooting for a comedy film and I was super excited to work with Ninja for the first time too. The shoot went so smoothly as all the actors were brilliant and the whole atmosphere was very friendly. Ninja is no doubt an amazing singer, an amazing actor and also an amazing costar to work with. Would love to do many more projects with him.

You’re part of Fer mamla gadbad hai along with ninja the film was announced in 2020 but due to pandemic it was pushed and the shoot got rescheduled to 2021 – was it difficult to sync in again with the character ?
The film shoot was done in one go. We as actors need to sync in the characters as soon as the director says, “ACTION”. My director and writer had asked me to put on some weight for the character. So while shooting I used to eat a lot of food that I otherwise would avoid, and not feel guilty about it. I enjoy the food of Punjab but I’m also working out regularly to balance it out.

Due to pandemic how did you managed to keep yourself fit ?
I kept motivating myself. Instead of regretting not being able to go to the gym, I did home workouts that helped me stay fit physically and mentally. It consisted of cardio, weight training exercises and yoga. Also, I make sure that I eat right. It keeps me happy.

Share some BTS from fer mamla gadbad hai’s set
It was like working with your family. On most days we had legends like B.N. Sharma Ji or Jaswinder Bhalla Ji on the set but they were all so friendly and made me comfortable. We were always having meals together between scenes and there was always a joke or a prank around the corner. Maybe that was the reason the shoot went like a breeze and we finished ahead of schedule.

Do you have any plans for Bollywood ?
For me no industry is big or small. As an actor, I would like to broaden my horizon with films that help me become better at my craft. I would love to do films with good content and would love to team up with great filmmakers. I want to work on scripts that could help me grow as an actor.

What are your future plans ?
Waiting for my films to release. Marjaney is scheduled to release in theatres on November 12th and Fer Mamlaa Gadbad hai on 20th May next year.
