Q. Nearly after a Year we got to see The yellow diary back with a very original song how was it..?
A. It feels absolutely amazing, 2020 was such a difficult year, but people gave Rab Raakha and the rest of our music so much love, it really helped us push through. And we were excited to kick start 2021 with Roz Roz!
Q. Another successful song of The yellow diary Roz Roz is receiving alot of appreciation and had crossed more than 1M views within 2 days how does it feeling?
Feels amazing. We’ve started 2021 on the right note. With the support of our label Sony Music India , our only goal is to make our music be heard everywhere this year. The plan was to pick up things from where we left off in 2020 and Roz Roz has done exactly that for us.
Q. How was Your collaboration with Shilpa Rao?
A. Shilpa has such a beautiful voice, and she has such an incredible control over it as well, that she can seamlessly encapsulate her listener no matter what genre she is singing. What our ears were leaning towards was the contrast in Shilpa & Rajan’s vocals. And how they both form such a strong sonic identity. So different individually, but in the scheme of the song, so together.
Working with Shilpa was a really interesting experience, considering most of our discussions happened in 2020, while no one was physically meeting each other. In fact, her first draft of vocals, were sent to us as a collection of voice notes from her phone! But right from understanding the song, to bringing a strong meaningful depth to it, along with plenty of jokes in between, she was an absolute pleasure to work with!

Q. What are your plans for hitting Bollywood
The way we write our music isn’t industry specific. We just like making good music. We aren’t actively seeking work in Bollywood but at the same time we’re open to every opportunity that comes our way.
Q. What is your take on Remix and Remake is that stopping maker’s to come up with a new idea
A.There’s nothing wrong with a remix or a remake if it’s done tastefully preserving the true essence of the composition. In fact, we ourselves did a rendition of “Tere Jeya Hor Disda” which gave us quite a bit of critical acclaim. A right balance of originality and nostalgia appeal needs to be struck.
Q. What are your upcoming projects and what new audience will get to encounter in coming days
A. This year couldn’t have started on a better note for us. With “Roz Roz” out and a bunch of live shows scheduled all over the country, we feel like life is slowly getting back to normal. We have a bunch of songs ready to release and we look forward to letting the world hear them. Also, we’ll be playing a lot of unreleased songs at our live gigs.
