Ever since ALTBalaji and ZEE5 have launched the posters, teaser and trailer of their highly-anticipated magnum opus, ‘Paurashpur’, it has not only generated enough buzz and excitement among the viewers, eagerly waiting to see the drama unfold but also piqued curiosity among them as they wonder what ‘Paurashpur’ is.
The makers have recently launched an exciting video of all the pivotal characters of the show revealing what Paurashpur means to them. Everyone has a different definition of Paurashpur – it is a burning ambition, a mystery, and has a history of its own! While Queen Meerawati (Shilpa Shinde) mentions in the video, “Humara khwaab hai Paurashpur aur hum isse aazaad dekhna chahte hain”, Boris (Milind Soman) questions the rules of the kingdom saying, “Paurashpur zimmedaari hai humari… isey uthane ke liye kandhe aur iraade dono mazboot chhaiye!”
To Kala (Poulomi Das), “Paurashpur mere liye kaid hai aur is kiad se main aazaad hona chahti hoon”, whereas for Prince Aditya (Anant vijay Joshi), “Paurashpur mein cheekh aksar band kamre se nikalti hai… bagaavat ki rooh kabhi kabhi yahaan bhatakti hai”. Other pivotal characters including Bhanu (Sahil Salathia) mentions in the video that it’s just a mystery, “Paurashpur ek aisa sawaal hai jiska jawaab kisi ke pass nahin” whereas Veer Singh (Shaheer Sheikh) adds, “Paurshpur ek aisi jagah hai – yahaan jo dikhta hai, wo hota nahi aur jo hota hai, kabhi dikhta hi nahin”.
The video ends with Raja Bhadrapratap Singh’s (Annu Kapoor) evil laugh as he opines, “Maharaja Bhadrapratap ka Paurashpur!”
Shot against the backdrop of 16th century India, Paurashpur is a toxic dynasty, that dictates women’s freedom, where the laws are so archaic that the women are disallowed from making decisions regarding their own bodies without the men in their lives.
Directed by Shachindra Vats, witness the epic story of an extraordinary kingdom on 29th December on ALTBALAJI & ZEE5!
