Aditya Roy Kapur – Sanya Malhotra’s crazy love ride in Ludo’s first song Aabaad Barbaad

Coming together again after their last musical collaboration, Jagga Jasoos, director Anurag Basu, music composer Pritam and producer Bhushan Kumar are set to create magic with the music of Ludo. The trailer of this dark comedy that released a couple of days ago has garnered rave reviews from the audiences as well as the industry. The film that is all about mystery, chaos, love, action and melodrama in a comic way is all bound together by the music of the film. The makers say that the music of Ludo is one of the most important characters of this film. The team released their first song, a love track, ‘Aabaad Barbaad’ composed by Pritam. The soulful love song sung by Arijit Singh and written by Sandeep Srivastava will take you through the journey of love between different characters in the film.

Speaking on his journey of creating the song with Pritam, director Anurag Basu, says, “Even after working with Pritam for so many years he still surprises you each time. With Ludo, it is his music which is keeping the whole film together. It’s new music by the new Pritam. If it wasn’t for him, I think my films would be incomplete. Now, it is impossible for me to make any film with Pritam’s music. As a director, it’s not fair for me to choose a favourite, but definitely, this song has a special liking. Sandeep has written beautiful lyrics plus in the voice of Arijit makes it beautiful. I couldn’t have imagined anybody else singing this song but Arijit. I hope the way we enjoyed making the songs, audiences will enjoy listening to them too.”

Producer Bhushan Kumar says, “All the songs in Ludo are new, different and yet in sync with the theme of the film. Pritam Da has weaved magic in each song for the film and his and Anurag Dada’s combination is lethal. While every song that binds the different stories in the film together is beautifully crafted, Aabaad Barbaad is one of my favourite songs from the film. It’s a combination of soothing melody and meaningful lyrics. Audiences will have an instant liking for this song.”

The ace music director, Pritam, adds, “Collaborating with Anurag is pure joy, with music sittings that are packed with madness and fun. Working with Bhushanji again is a pleasure and I know our music is in great hands. Aabad is a love song that’s happy, fun and very much in the zone of what you feel watching the trailer. We had a great time cracking this song.”

The ensemble cast of Ludo includes Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanya Malhotra who share screen space for the first time together. On one hand where Aditya plays a young, quirky and observant boy who is a bit laidback and careless in life, on the other hand, Sanya plays a small-town girl who is a no-nonsense, practical, aspirational character, who has her path charted out. A millennial story on love and how their perfect life is in jeopardy cause of their past.
