A Suitable Boy
Mira Nair’s adaptation of Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy makes the most of Namit’s craft as an actor, singer and music composer. In the BBC series, Namit essays the role of Haresh Khanna, a footwear entrepreneur, who hopes to marry Lata, one of the lead characters of the series. Set in a post-independence, post-partition India, A Suitable Boy follows the story of four families over a period of 18 months and centres on Mrs. Rupa Mehra’s efforts to arrange the marriage of her younger daughter, Lata, to a “suitable boy”. The series dropped in the UK over a month ago and it will stream in India soon.
