Action star, Vidyut Jammwal to dominate the OTT scene with his upcoming outings!

Ahead of the COVID-19 crisis, the power of digital streaming has risen with its full might in 2020. In a year that has witnessed fresh content making waves on OTT platforms, India’s action star, Vidyut Jammwal is all set to hit the digital screens with Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Yaara and Faruk Kabir’s Khuda Haafiz. His movies including Force, the Commando series and Junglee have been among the top-rated films of Hindi cinema on these platforms. With his upcoming films, the streak of dominating the OTT scene continues for Vidyut.

In the course of his career, Jammwal has owned the action genre like no other actor in the country so much so that he is the first choice of filmmakers of the genre. Action films and fitness were Jammwal’s calling because they caught on with him since his childhood. He was initiated into Kalaripayattu since he was three and trained in it to become one of the top ten martial artists in the world.

The Yaara actor remarks that it is this training that came handy at the movies. He is known for performing real-world combat-based action without the aid of stuntmen. It comes as no surprise then that his tryst with action and stunts continues with the two movies helmed by Dhulia and Kabir.

Interestingly, Yaara marks Vidyut’s reunion with Dhulia after they collaborated for Bullett Raja seven years ago. The venture is an official remake of the French film, Les Lyonnais. Yaara revolves around the rise and fall of four friends’ rustling operations across the Nepal-India border and will be streamed on ZEE5 on the 30th July, 2020. The actor’s other digital outing, Khuda Haafiz is a romantic action thriller inspired by true events. It will be streamed on Hotstar soon.

Says Vidyut, “I am very glad that the digital scene in India has stepped up and shared the onus of entertaining people. It feels great to be part of this huge surge in the new wave of entertainment. I think going digital has benefits that some of us may have overlooked earlier. There is no Friday release anxiety with streaming, the content is not watered down or censored and the viewers can watch films/shows whenever they want. It is a win-win scenario for the viewers, makers and talents.”

While the streaming date of Khuda Haafiz is yet to be announced, Yaara will be streaming on ZEE5 on the 30th July 2020.
