The trailer of Student of the year 2 is out now

The much-awaited trailer of Student of the Year 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey was released at an event in Mumbai today. Taking the franchise of Karan Johar’s 2012 film Student of the Year, the Punit Malhotra directorial marks the debut of Tara and Ananya.

One month away from it’s release, the trailer of the film is a visual treat. Student Of The Year 2 will take fans of the franchise back to St Teressa’s with a new batch of students who will have new stories of friendship, competition and rivalry to tell.

Apart from the cast of the film, also present at the event were Karan Johar, director Punit Malhotra, Apoorva Mehta (CEO – Dharma Productions) and Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios.

Talking the film, Karan says, “It is an exceptionally emotional day for me. This exact place, six years ago, we launched the SOTY trailer with Alia Bhatt, Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. It is a strong franchise and has been in the able hands of Punit Malhotra. I have known him since he was a small child. I have even taught him English.”

Praising the trailer, Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios says that he is proud to be associated with this franchise.

Apoorva Mehta of Dharma Productions adds, ” excepts that everyone loves and embraces the film twice as much

Student of the Year 2 is bigger than the first part in terms of scale and grandeur” and expects that everyone loves and embraces the film twice as much.

Sharing his excitement, the Student of the Year 2 director – Punit says, “I am too excited. I love how the trailer looks. To be honest, I was very nervous when we started shooting. I thought Tiger would punch me. I felt like I was a school teacher while directing Tara and Ananya”

On comparisons with the first part, Tiger Shroff says, “I don’t want to compare the two films. This is a very different film. Of course, there is a flavour of SOTY, but it is a different film. If you noticed in the trailer, we have introduced different sports like Kabaddi this time. I don’t think we have seen that sport in recent films”

Thanking Karan, Tara expresses, “Honestly, this moment feels surreal. This is the best day of my life. Thank you so much, Karan”

Ananya adds “It feels like a dream. I have seen so many of my friends do interviews and at the trailer launch of their films. I can’t believe I am here today”

Presented by Fox Star Studios, Student of the Year 2 is produced by Dharma Productions. The film directed by Punit Malhotra is slated to release on 10th May 2019.
