Upcoming on ‘Laxmi Narayan’: The Inspiring Tale Behind Satyanarayan Puja’s Creation

Amassing the love of the audiences, COLORS’ ‘Laxmi Narayan – Sukh Samaarthya Santoolan’ showcases the epic saga of universe’s ideal couple Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu. The upcoming track captures the aftermath of the great churning of the cosmic ocean, known as the Samudra Manthan. While the gods rejoiced in their newfound elixir of immortality, the world below faced unforeseen consequences. The remnants of Halahal, the deadly poison, and the presence of Alakshmi, the goddess of misfortune, cast a long shadow over the mortal realm. Dukh (sorrow) and daridrata (poverty) spread their tendrils far and wide, ensnaring the hearts of devotees in despair. Amid the gloom, Lord Narayan and Lakshmi, moved by their devotees’ plight, devised a new form of worship accessible to all. Lord Narayan chose a poor Brahmin to receive divine inspiration for the Satyanarayan Puja, a simple ritual requiring only five humble offerings: jaggery, wheat flour, ghee, banana, and curd. This puja could be performed at home without expensive resources. The Lord blessed the Brahmin with a divine vision, confirming the acceptance of this new worship. As word spread, communities gathered to perform the puja, sharing stories of the Lord’s divine plays. The puja became a symbol of hope, demonstrating that the path to the divine is paved with truth, devotion, and faith, rather than material wealth. It ensured that every soul could connect with the eternal truth, transcending all barriers.

Watch ‘Laxmi Narayan Sukh Saamarthya Santoolan’ every Monday to Friday at 10:00 pm only on COLORS.
