True Entertainment” to Re-release 2002’s hit romantic film Yeh Dil Aashiqana in Theatres on the eve of Valentine’s Day

True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. will re-release the 2002 theatrical success Yeh Dil Aashiqana across cinemas on 13 February 2026, bringing the film back to the big screen 24 years after its original release on 18 January 2002.

Directed by Kuku Kohli, Yeh Dil Aashiqana was among the notable box-office performers of its year and remains remembered for its music, romance and scale. Importantly, the film has never been released on any OTT platform, making this theatrical re-release the first opportunity in years for audiences to watch it in cinemas.

Kuku Kohli is a well-known name in Hindi commercial cinema and is best recognised for introducing Ajay Devgn in Phool Aur Kaante (1991), a film that went on to become iconic, particularly for its opening bike-split sequence, which remains one of the most talked-about debut entries in Bollywood. Over the years, Kohli has directed films such as Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Zulmi and Yeh Dil Aashiqana, and also launched actors Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma with the crowd pleaser blockbuster.

The re-release follows True Entertainment’s earlier decision to bring back Tujhe Meri Kasam, the debut film of Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza. Despite not being available on any digital platform, the film has continued to attract audiences during re-releases and is often cited within the industry as a strong example of theatrical strategy and long-term audience recall.

True Entertainment, founded by Shailendra Mandowara, has been active in film production and distribution business for over 24 years. Mandowara has been involved in the release and production of films including Forensic, Kanjoos Makhichoos, Mulk, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, The Bhoothni. Sarkar Raj, to name few. Most recently, the company acquired and released Maharaj (2024), a Tamil film dubbed in Hindi.

Kuku Kohli (Director) tells us, “Yeh Dil Aashiqana” was made for the big screen — the scale, the music, the emotions, everything was designed to be experienced collectively in a theatre. I’m genuinely happy that a new generation will get the chance to discover the film the way audiences did in 2002. Romantic films have a huge audience base today and the film will cater to young viewers. Cinema has a long memory, and when a film connects honestly, it always finds its way back to the audience.”

Shailendra Mandowara (Founder & CEO, True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.) added, “At True Entertainment, we strongly believe that certain films belong only in theatres, and Yeh Dil  Aashiqana is one of them. It has never been released on OTT, and that was a conscious decision to preserve its theatrical value. After the overwhelming response to the re-release of Tujhe Meri Kasam, bringing this film back felt like a natural step. This is about celebrating cinema that audiences still want to experience on the big screen.”

The film releases in cinemas nationwide on 13 February 2026.
