Maa ka haath thaamkar, apna bhavishya khud banane aa rahi hain Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan
~ Zee TV brings a powerful story of a single mother and her three daughters; a compelling tale of dignity, determination, and the strength to rise against all odds ~
Chandigarh, 17th September 2025: Across generations, women have shouldered the weight of society’s expectations, often judged for their choices, silenced in their struggles, and left to fight their battles alone. Yet, time and again, they have risen from heartbreak, defied stereotypes, and created futures of their own making. Ganga Mai’s story is one such tale. Left to raise her three daughters single-handedly, she endures the taunts of society, works tirelessly to keep her household running, and educates her daughters so they can stand on their own feet. Her journey reminds us that dignity isn’t granted by others; it’s something you must claim for yourself.
Celebrating this indomitable spirit, Zee TV presents Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, a moving family drama about a single mother who refuses to bow down to societal stigma. She rebuilds her life from scratch, raises her three daughters with dignity, and teaches them to face life head-on. Adapted from Zee Kannada’s acclaimed series Puttakana Makkalu, the show shines a light on a mother’s courage and her daughters’ determination to prove that daughters are never a burden, but a source of pride.
As part of Zee TV’s refreshed brand identity, Aapka Apna Zee TV, the channel continues to present stories rooted in real emotions and purpose. Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is a shining example of this vision, set against the culturally vibrant backdrop of Varanasi and produced by Ravie Dubey & Sargun Mehta’s Dreamiyata Dramaa.
While the show has already created a lot of chatter on social media after its first-to-recent promos went on air, Zee TV invited media to Chandigarh for an exclusive set tour in a unique experiential launch. The highlight of the visit was a heartfelt interaction with Ganga Mai herself (played by Shubhangi Latkar) and her daughters, Sneha (Amandeep Sidhu), Sahana (Srishti Jain) and Soni (Vaishnavi Prajapati), who hosted a simple, soulful lunch from their on-screen dhaba for the visiting media, giving them a taste of the warmth and love that reflect their characters from the show.
Speaking about her role, Shubhangi Latkar shared, “Ganga Mai is not just a character; she is a symbol of every woman who chooses dignity over despair. Despite being abandoned, she does not allow bitterness to define her life. Instead, she turns her pain into strength and raises her daughters with values of compassion, resilience, and self-respect. Portraying her has been an emotionally enriching journey for me.”
Amandeep Sidhu said, “Sneha is the firebrand of the family, fiercely protective, outspoken, and driven by the dream of becoming a District Collector. She channels her anger about her father’s abandonment into a mission to uplift her family. Playing Sneha makes me feel powerful because she is a woman of purpose who never backs down.”
Srishti Jain added, “Sahana is the quiet nurturer. She holds the family together with her warmth and her exceptional cooking skills. She is caught between Ganga Mai and Sneha often but emerges as the voice of balance and wisdom. This character has made me appreciate the strength in being gentle.”
Vaishnavi Prajapati said, “Soni brings the spark and innocence to the household. She is playful yet mature for her age, excels in sports and academics, and even manages the mess accounts! I love playing her because she reminds me of how curiosity and optimism can keep a family’s spirit alive.”
Joining this powerful ensemble is popular actor Sheizaan Khan, who plays Siddhant aka Siddhu – a feared yet soft-hearted moneylender from Banaras. Sheizaan shared, “Siddhu is a fascinating character– feared by many, yet deeply emotional and guided by his mother’s wishes. He appears intimidating, but he is fair and just at heart. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Sneha, whose strength reminds him of his own mother. This role feels very close to me personally, and I am grateful to return to Zee TV with such a layered, emotionally charged part.”
Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan premieres on 22nd September 2025 and will air everyday at 9:00 PM, only on Zee TV!
