As the members of the Zee TV Kutumb came together under one vibrant roof, an unforgettable moment unfolded during the shoot, where fiction met reality in the most moving way. Mohak Matkar, who essays the role of Saru, met Jyoti — a young woman from Haryana whose real-life journey reflects the same grit, courage, and resilience that Saru portrays on screen. Just like Saru, Jyoti has challenged patriarchy, broken barriers, emerged as a beacon of hope for young girls in her community, and helped them envision a future far bigger than the boundaries once set for them. This meeting left a lasting impact on Mohak, deepening her bond with the character she plays.

Mohak said, “Meeting Jyoti was inspiring, it was grounding, emotional, and eye-opening all at once. As an actor, I’ve worked hard to understand and embody Saru; a girl who is confident, driven by her values, and relentless in the pursuit of her dreams. Sitting across from Jyoti and listening to her story, I felt an instant connection. What touched me most was realising that the dream she carries isn’t just hers. It’s a dream shared by so many girls across the country who are still waiting to be seen, to be heard, to be given a chance.”

She added, “As an actor, it’s rare to witness how your character’s journey mirrors someone’s real life so closely. She reminded me that playing Saru isn’t just a role — it’s a responsibility. Meeting her made me feel more connected to my character and deeply inspired. Her strength and courage will stay with me for a long time.”

For Mohak, this wasn’t just about portraying a strong character, it became about honouring real stories like Jyoti’s, who dare to dream beyond limits. With the heartfelt moments and the vibrant colours of tradition, Zee Rishton Ka Mela turned into a true celebration of unity and togetherness.
