Half Ticket – 11:00am

Starting off strong with the 1962 classic Half Ticket, the movie stars an ensemble cast of Kishore Kumar alongside Madhubala, Pran, Manorama and Pradeep Kumar. Directed by Kalidas and produced by Bombay Talkies, Kumar plays Vijay, a good for nothing young man who is on the run as his father wants him to get married. Vijay decides to head to Bombay to start a brand new life, but does not have the money for a full train ticket which forces him to pose as a child to avail the discounted half ticket. The rest of the plot follows Vijay’s journey in the train as he gets caught up with a dangerous diamond smuggler and falls in love with a young girl named Rajnidevi, played by Madhubala. The film has a melodious soundtrack with melodies like ‘Chand Raat Tum Ho Saath’ sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. The film’s Indian box office run was a success, grossing ₹1 crore and netting a respectable ₹0.5 crore.

Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi – 2:00pm

This cult classic movie has embossed itself into the history of Indian cinema as one of the most iconic works of art. The film stars Kishore Kumar alongside his brothers Ashok Kumar and Anoop Kumar, joined on screen by Madhubala, Veena and KN Singh. The plot follows three brothers  Brijmohan, Manmohan and Jagmohan Sharma who run a garage. The eldest of the three, Brijmohan has a strong dislike towards women due to past misunderstandings and encourages his brothers to never marry. Problems arise as the two brothers fall in love with two women from the same household. The plot culminates into a delightful mix of music, comedy and action, making Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi a must-watch. The soundtrack is composed by SD Burman and RD Burman with memorable tracks like ‘Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si’ and ‘Haal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka’. Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi was the second highest-grossing Indian film of 1958, earning ₹2.5 crore gross and ₹1.25 crore net.

Jhumroo -5:00pm

The unmatched duo of Nargis and Kishore Kumar return to the screen with this romantic comedy, also starring Chanchal, Anoop Kumar, Lalita Pawar and Jayant. Madhubala plays Anjana, a sweet girl who returns to home after completing her education. Anjana bumps into Jhumroo, who is played by Kishore Kumar, a local tribal man and they soon fall in love. Conflicts arise when Anjana’s father strongly disapproves of the match and harbours a strong hatred for Jhumroo. Over the course of the film Anjana’s life is upturned as buried secrets come to life and nothing is what it seems. The enigmatic soundtrack and its lyrics are written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Kishore Kumar. Jhumroo is known for its unforgettable tracks like ‘Main Hoon Jhumroo’ and ‘Jhoome Re Jhoome’, sung by Kumar and Asha Bhosle.

Naughty Boy- 8:00pm

This comedy of errors stars Kishore Kumar alongside Kalpana Mohan with Bhattacharya, Laxmi Chhaya and Om Prakash in supporting roles. The plot follows a young man named Pritam who works as a bookkeeper but has no place to live. He soon finds a friend in Jagdish who invites him to share a house with three other people. It is on this property that Pritam runs into Neena Sharma and they soon fall in love. But tragedy strikes as Neena runs into a terrible accident and is presumed dead. The rest of the film follows Pritam struggles to get over Neena and woo a different woman. But the plot takes a turn as Neena arrives, well and alive. The soundtrack is composed by SD Burman and RD Burman and trademarked with iconic tracks like ‘Ho Gayi Shyam Dil Badnam’ and ‘Nazren Milake Jo Duniya Ki’ sung by Kumar and Manna Dey.
