Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanks Priyanka Chopra Jonas for donating to PM CARES Fund

Politicians, diplomats and medical experts across the world have joined hands to fight the coronavirus pandemic. With so many people pooling their efforts to mitigate the distress, global icon and philanthropist, Priyanka Chopra Jonas along with her husband, Nick Jonas made donations to several charities including, PM CARES Fund.

For her contribution to the fund set up for providing relief to affected people, Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi thanked Priyanka. He tweeted, “Be it individuals or institutions, diligent professionals or eminent personalities, everyone is coming together for the healthier future of India. Thank you @icsi_cs, @priyankachopra@anilkumble1074 for contributing to PM CARES.”

Apart from PM CARES Fund, the international star has donated to UNICEF, Feeding America, Goonj, Doctors Without Borders, No Kid Hungry, Give India, Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, International Association for Human Values and Aseema.

In one of her earlier tweets, Chopra-Jonas wrote, ”
These organizations are doing amazing work by helping those impacted by
#Covid19
. They are feeding the hungry, supporting doctors and first responders, helping low income and homeless communities, and supporting our colleagues in the entertainment industry.”

Priyanka has been spreading the word about precautions and guidelines stipulated by the World Health Organisation ever since self-isolation was mandated. A few days ago, she also arranged an Instagram live with Dr Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organisation and Maria Van Kerkhove, a Technical Lead for COVID-19 to debunk myths that have been doing the rounds on the internet.
